SmallForce MCP for ChatGPT

Connect SmallForce to ChatGPT so it can manage your social media, CRM contacts, inbox conversations, Google reviews, and call analytics directly in the chat interface.

Prerequisites

  • A ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise account
  • A SmallForce API key — open the SmallForce app → Settings → create an API key

Setup

1. Enable Developer Mode

  1. In ChatGPT, click your profile icon and go to Settings
  2. Click on Apps
  3. Click Advanced Settings
  4. Toggle on Developer Mode

2. Create a new App

  1. Go back to Settings → Apps
  2. Click “Create App”
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Name: SmallForce
    • Description: Manage social media, CRM, inbox, reviews, and calls
    • MCP Server URL: https://mcp.smallforcehq.com/mcp
    • Authentication: Select OAuth
  4. Check “I understand and want to continue”
  5. Click Create

3. Authenticate with your API key

After creating the app, ChatGPT will open the SmallForce authentication page in your browser. On this page:

  1. Paste your SmallForce API key (sf_sk_live_...)
  2. Click Connect

That’s it — authentication is complete and ChatGPT now has access to all 22 SmallForce tools.

Usage

To use SmallForce in any conversation, type @ and select SmallForce from the menu. Then ask your question:

@SmallForce List my connected social media accounts
@SmallForce Create a post saying "Big announcement coming soon! 🚀" on all accounts
@SmallForce Show me unread inbox conversations
@SmallForce Find all 1-star Google reviews that need a reply
@SmallForce Add a new contact: Jane Doe, jane@example.com, Acme Corp

ChatGPT will call the appropriate SmallForce tool and display the results inline.

File uploads

ChatGPT supports attaching files directly. When you upload an image and ask SmallForce to use it in a post, the upload_media_file tool handles the transfer automatically.

Troubleshooting

  • Developer Mode not visible: Ensure you have a ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise account
  • App not connecting: Verify the MCP Server URL is exactly https://mcp.smallforcehq.com/mcp
  • OAuth page not loading: Ensure you selected OAuth as the authentication type
  • Auth errors: Re-enter your API key on the SmallForce authentication page
  • Tools not showing: Type @ in the chat and check if SmallForce appears in the list
  • Still stuck: Remove the app from Settings → Apps and re-add it following the steps above
