# Connect SmallForce AI employees to Slack

Connect Slack when a team wants to assign work and receive results without leaving its workspace.

## Connect a workspace

1. Open **Channels → Slack** in SmallForce.
2. Choose **Add to Slack** and authorize the SmallForce Slack app for the intended workspace.
3. In Slack, open a channel and enter `/invite @SmallForce`. Public and private channels are supported when SmallForce has been invited.
4. Mention `@SmallForce` in a new message to start work.

SmallForce replies inside the Slack thread so normal channel conversation stays tidy. Continue in that thread for follow-up work that depends on the same context.

## Assign an employee

In the Slack channel settings shown by SmallForce, select the employee that should handle new threads in that channel. Different channels can route work to different employees—for example, a content employee in `#marketing` and a client-operations employee in `#delivery`.

## Select progress visibility

- **Final answer only** sends the completed response.
- **Compact progress** updates one concise status message and then sends the final response.
- **Detailed progress** shows available intermediate activity before the final response.

An organization owner or admin manages Slack workspace connections. If a channel does not appear, confirm SmallForce was invited and refresh the channel list.
